Hospice of SLO
Hospice of San Luis Obispo County (Hospice SLO County) is an incorporated 501(c)3 volunteer hospice serving San Luis Obispo County residents who are facing a life-limiting illness, end of life or grief. They offer many support programs such as in-home, animal, and end of life doula groups for the community.
Project overview
End of life doula groups work around the clock to make sure that all considerations are addressed, but the difficulties of scheduling volunteers and communicating specifics for each patient is amplified by the absence of a centralized platform. To solve this, the Hospice SLO project team is building a central volunteer application focused on communication and logistics management. Major features include a calendar sign-up system and a forum for volunteers to connect and provide updates.
