Partners in Equestrian Therapy

Partners in Equestrian Therapy is a program that assists children, adults, and volunteers through equine activities led by a team of certified instructors, trained staff, volunteers, and gentle and lovely horses. Located in Atascadero, the organization provides individuals with the opportunity to have confidence and independence while increasing physical skills and cognition. The horses at the organization are trained animals who love their job.

Project overview

Partners in Equestrian Therapy staff was faced with scheduling and communication challenges when texting volunteers and riders for appointments and shifts on a week-to-week basis. A scheduling web application was developed to address the stress of event organization and last-minute changes. By providing login, calendar, and reoccurring-scheduling functionality, clear communication is ensured between riders and staff in order to improve trust and efficiency for equine activities.
