Stand Strong & Rise
Stand Strong supports survivors and works to end domestic violence in San Luis Obispo County. RISE provides crisis intervention and treatment services to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence and their loved ones. Both organizations run crisis lines and provide training to volunteers to offer support for the local community. In 2021, these organizations merged to form Lumina Alliance.
Project overview
Both organizations work crisis lines consisting of trained volunteers, but the logistics of ensuring shifts are covered is made difficult without an application that seamlessly allows volunteers to sign up and staff to see volunteer shifts in one place. Because both organizations face the same challenges, the project is aimed to create a volunteer management system that ensures ease of use by both staff and volunteers. Major features include a calendar sign-up system and a bulletin board for updates.
